The Aixcel spreadsheet with conditional formatting, data bars, and a live SUM formula

A real formula engine

278 functions across math, statistics, text, lookup, dates, financial, engineering and more. Dynamic arrays spill into ranges, LET and LAMBDA work, and errors explain themselves in plain language.

Opens the files you already have

True .xlsx import and export, so your existing Excel workbooks open and save cleanly. Also reads and writes .csv, plus a plain-text .aix format that plays nicely with version control.

Pivot tables and filters

Summarize any table by rows and columns with sum, count, average, min and max, complete with grand totals. AutoFilter hides what you do not need, and sorting respects it.

Charts and formatting

Six live chart types that update as your data changes. Conditional formatting with color scales and data bars, cell borders, merge and center, number formats, and a format painter.

An AI assistant, your rules

It explains any formula instantly and fully offline. Ask in plain language and it writes a working formula you insert with one click. Live AI is opt-in: bring your own key from the provider you prefer, or use the built-in demo mode.

Private by design

Aixcel runs fully offline and sandboxed. No account, no ads, no analytics, no telemetry. Your files never leave your Mac, and the optional AI only sees what you select, when you ask.

Built to feel familiar, engineered from zero.

No frameworks and no dependencies: a hand-built engine and a canvas grid that stays fast across the full million-row sheet.
